Dates for Bright, Gray, Dark

The TAC's standard definitions for dark (D), gray (G), and bright (B) nights are:

Dark: |Moon Age| < 5.5

Gray: 5.5 < |Moon Age| < 8.5

Bright: |Moon Age| > 8.5

In trimester 2008B, these definitions correspond to the following dates as derived from the MMTO's Almanac.

Dark: Sep. 1-5; Sept. 21 to Oct. 4; Oct. 23 - Nov. 3; Nov. 22 - Dec. 2; Dec. 21-31

Gray: Sep. 6-8; Sep. 20; Oct. 5-7; Oct. 20-22; Nov. 4-6; Nov. 18-21; Dec. 3-6; Dec. 18-20

Bright: Sep. 9-19; Oct. 9-19; Nov. 7-17; Dec. 7-17
