Trimesters

Observing proposals are accepted in trimesters as follows:

Trimester	Observing Period	Proposal Deadline	Notes
2009A	Jan.-April	October 8	Long Term proposals allowed. Proposals for Magellan I/II 2009A accepted.
2009B	May-Aug.	late February or early March	Affected by summer downtime. Proposals for Magellan I/II 2009B accepted.
2009C	Sept.-Dec.	early July

The Magellan I/II telescopes are scheduled in semesters (late Jan.-July; Aug.-Jan.). Exact dates change slightly from year to year depending on engineering runs.
